Slovenia gives great attention to the operation of the UN. The UN
ensures the possibility for Slovenia's active contribution to peace
and security. Nonetheless, the degree of security that membership in
the UN guarantees for a country depends on wider processes in the
international community and on how effective the UN can actually be in
preserving security and peace.
