Slovenia's contribution to stabilisation of the region of Southeast Europe
The Republic of Slovenia has responded to the new security
challenges with active involvement in various international
organisations and forums, including the EU, United Nations, EAPC,
OSCE, etc, and with active policies to arms control, preventing the
spread of use of weapons of mass destruction, personal and light arms,
the fight against organised crime and terrorism etc. (conventions of
which RS is a contract party). It is thus active in military and
civilian aspects of peace operations. The ever more complex security
environment also requires increasingly elaborated mechanisms for
successful mediation, of which the purpose is a "integrated approach"
to resolving conflicts.
