Plans

We plan for the year 2003 to increase the number of police officers in international operations for support of the peace. Thus six representatives of the Slovene Police will start their work on January 1st, 2003 in the international police mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will replace the existing IPFT mission there.

Police is continuing with the preparations for the formation of a police unit that will be included in the "standby system" of the police forces of the European Union and of the United Nations. This means the formation of a police unit about 80 men strong, which will include a 10-member permanent structure, 30-member temporary structure of officers, already working in already established missions, and a 40-member temporary structure of policemen ready for rapid interventions in new crises areas (so called standby arrangement).
