NATO Science Programme
The NATO Science Programme (www.nato.int/science) was
founded in1958. Initially it was meant primarily for supporting
cooperation between scientists from Member States. Since the early
1990s the NATO Programme has been extended to a wider scientific
community enabling the cooperation of scientists from partner
countries. 1999 was a landmark year when the NATO Science Programme
was transformed so that support is now devoted to collaboration
between Partner-country and NATO-country scientists.
About 10,000 scientists are currently involved in the NATO Science
Programme.
The NATO Science Programme is divided into four sub-programmes:
- Science fellowships (http://www.nato.int/science/e/fellows.htm)
- Science and technology (http://www.nato.int/science/e/cst.htm)
- Research infrastructure support (http://www.nato.int/science/e/ris.htm)
- Science for peace (http://www.nato.int/science/e/sfp.htm)
